Join The #AIRS Campaign

The #AIRS Campaign(Abolish Incarcerated Reality Shows) is dedicated to ending the exploitation of incarcerated individuals through reality TV shows. These programs profit from sensationalizing the struggles of those behind bars, perpetuating harmful stereotypes. Our mission is to shed light on the real stories and experiences of those affected by the justice system, advocating for respect and dignity for all individuals.

We demand accountability from media producers and networks to recognize the societal impact of their programming. Our campaign calls for the abolition of incarcerated reality shows and the implementation of ethical standards that prioritize well-being and dignity. We advocate for alternative storytelling that promotes empathy and positive change within our communities.

Join us in our efforts to end the exploitation of incarcerated individuals for entertainment purposes. Together, we can amplify their voices and work towards a more just and compassionate society where every individual is valued.

#AIRS Campaign Demands:

  • Ensure full consent and fair compensation for individuals on reality shows, including a minimum wage for incarcerated participants.
  • Allocate 50% of funds earned by incarcerated individuals to an Incarcerated People fund, supporting financial stability upon release.
  • Mandate producers and networks to donate profits to non-profit programs aiding re-entry, housing, and vocational support for those leaving incarceration.
  • Hold producers and networks accountable for contributing to violence in correctional facilities and stigmatization of incarcerated people through awareness campaigns and research projects.
